Lifesaving Stroke Treatment

Our hospital is home to NYU Langone’s Comprehensive Stroke Center, where a team of neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, and specially trained nurses is available at all times to provide lifesaving stroke treatment. Recovery is supported by the team at Rusk Rehabilitation at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, where patients begin rehabilitation before returning home. Both programs have been recognized by The Joint Commission as one of the best places in the United States to receive treatment for and recover from stroke.

Multifaceted Surgical Care

We are leaders in surgical treatment for life-threatening and chronic conditions. The Emergency Department at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is certified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level 1 Trauma Center, and our medical and surgical teams are trusted to care for people with the most dangerous and life-threatening injuries.

We provide surgical treatment for people with cancer, including the Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer. Bariatric, or weight loss, surgery is provided through the Weight Management Program at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. We also provide surgical care for many endocrine, gynecologic, orthopedic, and neurological conditions.

Advanced Cardiac Care

In our cardiac catheterization laboratory, we offer noninvasive cardiac testing as well as catheterization, stents, and emergency treatments for blocked arteries and heart attacks. Doctors from the Heart Rhythm Center—Brooklyn perform electrophysiology studies to diagnose irregular heart rhythms, and provide catheter ablation and cardiac device therapy to restore normal heart rhythm.
